Benefits for members
Trips and Events
Club members regularly organise trips including bushwalking, canyoning, climbing, kayaking, mountaineering, mountain biking, rogaining/orienteering, ski touring and snow-shoeing. These activities cater to a range of abilities and are a great way to learn new skills and work on your fitness to participate in more complex trips. As well as adventure trips, the club also runs social events including camp-outs, BBQs, dinners, adventure film nights and presentations/slide nights.
Gear store
The gear store opens weekly so members can hire equipment.
Leadership development
Membership provides a great opportunity to develop leadership skills. Leading trips, participating in training, passing on your skills and knowledge, and serving on the committee or executive are all ways of contributing to the club while building your own skills and experience in leadership.
Subsidies
The club has a long history of providing funding support to its members for competition, skills training and expedition subsidies.
Discounts
A number of local and online stores offer club members discounts of between 10 and 20 percent.
Insurance
The ANU holds a range of insurance policies that extend to ANU Sport and Recreation Association clubs. ANUMC recommends that all members have appropriate ambulance cover and health insurance, as well as vehicle insurance.
