The ANUMC organises regular social paddles on the lake. These are ideal for developing skills and confidence before participating in weekend trips further afield. We generally paddle as a group, so come along to improve your technique, build up paddling fitness and practice your eskimo roll or sea-kayak sailing.
Trips depart from the boatshed on Sullivan's Creek, down by the lake (building 82 on the campus map).
Note that you need to first participate in a 'Come and Try' session (see the trip calendar). This will cover the basics of how to use the boats, gear and how to paddle safely. Upon completion of a Come and Try session you membership card will be stamped. Once your card has been stamped, you can participate in the weekly kayaking sessions and trips further afar, depending on the experience requirements for the particular trip.
You'll need to bring clothes that can get wet, and hat/sunscreen/warm top depending on the weather.
